ABOUT

Taylor Viens is a Special Project Manager in the marketing department of the New York Botanical Garden, a non-profit that advocates for the plant kingdom with an operating budget of over $60 million. Prior to joining the New York Botanical Garden, he was a Politics reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle and a floorhand at Nabors Drilling International Ltd in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

Taylor is a fluent speaker of French, with proficiency in Italian, Spanish, HTML and CSS. He received a BA from the Politics department of New York University, where he graduated cum laude and received the Founders Day Award for academic achievement as an NYU Honors Scholar.

Taylor prides himself on his ability to juggle various projects with conviction to deadlines- characteristics that developed, and continue to, through his professional experiences. He has demonstrated adaptability by experience-- living in Singapore, Switzerland, Italy, France and Argentina-- and is eager to work in almost any challenging environment.

Special Project Manager
The New York Botanical Garden

Responsibilities include meeting clients, coordinating internal and external logistics, preparing material for print, approving the final product and placement, and managing all NYBG's departmental print budget.

Manage a team of three design and creative specialists creating marketing productions for all departments including event content copy, programs, brochures, signage, and digital graphics and web production.

Extensive experience in web writing, blogging and data aggregation. Published on a quotidian basis on SF Chronicle Politics blog, many ran in print. Honed skills ranging from: researching, copy editing, article generation and interviewing: from embedding in Occupy Oakland movements to Nancy Pelosi.

Three month fellowship working in Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain & Saudi Arabia

Worked in Supply Chain & Asset Management managing a three person team in warehouse in Al-Rushaid Rig Yard, Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Worked on an offshore drilling platform in the Arabian Gulf, assisting in the move of Ocean Master VIII from port in Sharjah to Hammriyah.
